Ayutthaya Sunset Ride: An Enchanting Night Bicycle Tour

Experience the former capital of Thailand like never before on the Ayutthaya Sunset Ride. We depart at 17:00 from the ThailandBiking Ayutthaya office for a 3-4 hour journey. This excursion reveals the beauty of the UNESCO World Heritage Site after dark. As the sun dips below the horizon, the ancient ruins come to life. Many temples are beautifully illuminated. Furthermore, your expert guide will share stories of powerful Thai kings and the city’s dramatic history.

Pom Phet Fortress and the Chao Phraya River

Our adventure begins at the historic remains of Pom Phet Fortress. Next, we ride to the Wat Khun Phrom Ferry. Here, we board a boat to cross the majestic Chao Phraya River. Consequently, you will experience the city from the water before continuing our journey on the opposite bank.

Sunset at Wat Chai Watthanaram

Once across the river, we cycle through charming Muslim communities. Along the way, we pass the historic Wat Phutthaisawan and St. Joseph’s Church. Eventually, we arrive at the spectacular Wat Chai Watthanaram. We enjoy the sunset here. This provides a perfect opportunity to take magical pictures of the temple against the evening sky.

Community Markets and Thai Appetizers

After the sunset, we continue our ride to a local community market. We park our bicycles to browse the colorful stalls. This is the perfect time to sample a typical Thai snack or appetizer. In addition, you will get a true glimpse of authentic local life.

The Giant Reclining Buddha

Next, we cycle to Wat Lokaya Sutha. Here, you will see the massive reclining Buddha. Because it is beautifully lit at night, the statue takes on a peaceful and mystical appearance.

Royal Chapels and Sacred Sites

Our spectacular evening ride continues past the impressive Wat Phra Si Sanphet. Afterward, we visit Wat Mahathat, one of the most famous temple complexes in the historical park. This site was once the seat of the head of the Buddhist monks.

Night Markets and Riverside Dining

As we approach the end of our tour, we pass the bustling Bang Ian Night Market. Finally, we conclude our journey at a beautiful riverside restaurant. Here, you will enjoy an authentic local dinner while overlooking the water.
