Chiang Mai Sunset Foodie ride

As the name suggests, our Chiang Mai Food Tour is all about cycling and stimulating your taste buds. Chiang Mai offers a massive selection of typical Thai delicacies, making it the perfect culinary destination. We begin our ride in the late afternoon (16:30) as the sun begins to set.

We cycle through Chiang Mai’s backstreets and hidden alleyways to discover street-side stalls and vibrant food markets. During this journey, you will sample authentic Northern “Muang” food. Additionally, you will taste unique Shan and Tai Yai delicacies.

Our first stop provides an impression of local home-cooked meals. You will be surprised by the freshness and the enormous variety of food available at this local market. Here, we enjoy a small snack and fresh fruit to prepare your palate for the evening ahead.

Before continuing toward the city center, we visit a beautiful Silver Temple complex. Your guide will explain the history and culture of the region as the temple begins to glow in the twilight. Afterward, we ride through small alleys to reach the North Gate Market. This is a favorite evening spot for locals to enjoy barbecue pork or chicken.

After our appetizers, we cycle to Wat Inthakhin, also known as the “Navel of the City.” This temple marks the original center of the city. We spend a few minutes here admiring the 700-year-old White Buddha while listening to the monks chanting.

Next, we ride past the Three Kings Monument to reach the largest fresh market in Chiang Mai. Here, you will learn the secrets of Northern Thai cuisine. You can watch vendors make fresh chili paste and explore shops selling traditional curries and stews. We will sample exotic fruits and perhaps try grilled eggs cooked in banana leaves.

After a quick noodle soup “starter” in Chinatown, we head to our main restaurant. You will enjoy a feast of traditional cuisine that is difficult to find elsewhere. Your guide will explain each dish and the traditions behind them. Don’t worry—vegetarians will have plenty of delicious options too!

Finally, we pedal to the charming Mae Kha Canal (Klong Mae Kha). This is the perfect spot for a cup of coffee and a sweet treat while watching the locals stroll along the water. We finish our 17-kilometer Chiang Mai Food Tour around 20:00. Book your sunset foodie adventure today!
